Just after your quote of me I also say "which would probably turn them off to LO right off the
bat". And this brings me back to the point I have tried to make all along. All the information
regarding Oracle/OOo/LO should have been on the website for all to read at their leisure. And that
is truly my concern - people being turned off to LO right off the bat, and then not wanting to
support what I hope will be the real, true open source office program. If you don't get the support
from the OOo user base, we could be the losers in the end. Oracle could continue to develop OOo
just until they felt like they have the lead far enough to make LO go away. And then either drop
OOo altogether, or start charging for it. Or worse yet, and this wouldn't surprise me any - sell it
to Micro$oft!
And then, where would people be that really need a good open source office program????
Anyway, I am fixing to confirm my "unsubscribing" from this list. I truly hope and pray y'all work
this out - if so, I'll be back.

I have been learning most of the answers through this email list, which is, of course, the reason
I joined it in the first place. Because there wasn't anything to learn on the web page. But now
my inbox is inundated with mail, and I shouldn't have had to subscribe to this crazy list to find
out what is going on between OOo and LO. The amount of mail on this list would be overwhelming to
a lot of users looking for answers. Which would probably turn them off to LO right off the bat. I
know it has me, at least for now. Maybe by the time there is an actual product called
LibreOffice, y'all will have figured out that I'm not the only one that would like to know a
little about what all is going on with Oracle/OOo/LO. And it would be better to learn about all
that just by reading it from a web page rather than having a mailbox running over. Like someone
else has already said in one of the emails about all that there is on the web page is a lot of
self praising, back patting, and a
tt
a boys.
I understand you are disappointed by the website, but you started by
saying, "I will guarantee you there are a ton of other folks out here
with the same questions I had/have!!" I'm glad that at least the
mailing list is answering them. That's one good thing, right?
Eventually, the website will be improved -- and substantially so, before
the first official stable release of LibO. Please be patient -- we are
very early in this process!
