I'll go and find out how creation of torrent files starts, and where
they will be saved.

If You can give a hint, where to study that would be nice.

See the stage2pub script for how the tracker and seed get the torrents
:-)

I did ..

There are no physically stored copies of the torrents with
mirrorbrain, as those are generated on-the-fly (i.e. when accessing
the site from german IP, you'll get different set of webseeds compared
to when you access the torrent from a US based IP).

Wow, that's really "brain" :o))

So to get the torrent, simply download it from mirrorbrain (just
append .torrent to the URL)

That doesn't work out:
I created a directory pub/libreoffice/iso and put the iso file in there.
To avoid it beeing mirrored I told rsync to exclude it.

See here:
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/iso/
and "details":
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/iso/LibO_3.3.0-1_DVD_allplatforms_snapshot-2011-01-28_21.13.39_de.iso.mirrorlist

It's displayed but no torrent file is offered (and download fails:
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/iso/LibO_3.3.0-1_DVD_allplatforms_snapshot-2011-01-28_21.13.39_de.iso.torrent)

even after a night of waiting and adjusting ownership of the file 10 min
ago (but that shouldn't matter as long as the file is readable for
mirror brain).

Thanks for taking care :o)).

Gruß/regards
