Jean already clarified this is not the case, but if you need numbers
this is the comparison for the Italian version of the Getting Started
Guide in 18 Chapters:
ODT version 13092K total
PDF version 10732K total

So using PDF is clearly not a disadvantage in terms of file size in this
case.
