States, was that there was not a marketing team that focused exclusively
on the US.

I totally agree. Marketing is related to markets and not to languages,
as much as localization is related to languages and not to markets. The
LibreOffice marketing team acknowledges this, and will be organized - as
soon as it will be possible to be organized - accordingly.
