Hi Thorsten,

Hi Jesper,

glad to see you here! :)

What is missing is clearly the delta between the implementation of
LibreOffice and ODF itself - in other words: what parts of ODF is not
implemented in LibreOffice? A classic example of this would be missing
support in LibreOffice of the chart type "gantt". Do you have any plan to
include information like this in the implementer's notes?

That's indeed useful information; it is though rather hard work to
tease it out - as large parts of the existing ODF implementation is
of course inherited from 10 years of OOo.

Yes - I am not trying to downplay the resources needed to create
implementer's notes with real value.

That said, if one does not start, it will never happen, so maybe you
could stick the white spots you know of, in LibO's ODF coverage,
into the wiki (or just answer here)? And we then incrementally
enhance that list.

Yes - and I have registered on your wiki the other day for just that reason.

What I think would be a good format would be to create the same structure
Microsoft did when they initially made their first implementer's notes.
They took offset in the structure of the standard itself and the numbering
of the sections. So if you were implementing "Section x, paragraph Y", you
could go to that specific place in their implementer notes and find answer
to any discrepancies with Office implementation and OOXML spec. It has been
extremely useful.

And finally - the list of extensions to OOF seems incomplete. When
LibreOffice 3.6 was announced, a rather large list of new functions were
added to LibreOffice, and they do not seem to appear in OOF itself . The
list I saw can be found here :
http://goo.gl/ha5lB<http://www.version2.dk/artikel/ny-libreoffice-36-klar-til-download-paa-vej-til-web-og-android-46883>(sorry,
 I only have it
in Danish).

I hope the list is reasonably complete; not every new feature needs
an ODF extension. Do you have anything specific in mind, that we
might have missed?

I have not done a specific investigation of this, but the press release
referred on the Danish page says that Calc has now several new functions
like

"DATODIF, IMAGTAN, IMAGSEK, IMAGCSK ,IMAGCOT, IMAGSINH, IMAGCOSH, IMAGSEKH
og IMAGCSKH"

I would imagine that these were defined in OOF, but I cannot find then in
ODF 1.2 Part 2.
