It's not even clear whether it will be the current codebase or some
older version IBM is basing their version on.

It is the codebase on openoffice.org.  The intent is to move the full
version history.  The mechanics of this have yet to be worked out.

Small comment:  Do make sure that you also try to get all the various unmerged internal branches of 
the code and not just the buildable source as there is likely to be useful work-in-progress there 
(including contributions) that we would all benefit from.
