I'd rather recommend to use the already existing forums, for example
http://www.openoffice.info (and others).

(1) These forums are run by community members. They are independent
from Oracle, who seems to be leaving the community. I think there is
no need to set up additional community forums.

Hmmm, I kind of think that there is a need for different forums.
LibreOffice and OpenOffice are two different projects now that will start
to diverge more and more as time goes on. I am sure there will be unique
bugs and unique features for both suites. And as for this mailing list,
most people don't like or don't understand mailing lists.

(2) I'd prefer forum sites without commercial advertisements.

looks great, but there are more advertisements than contents....

I hope you're exaggerating about the ads! :-) Of course there aren't many
posts yet, the forum is only a week old. The ads take up a very minimal
amount of space. And I am sure that anybody who is smart enough to not use
Microsoft Office can also figure out how to use an ad blocker. And for
those who don't want that, there is an option in the user configuration
page to disable both ad blocks for those who can't stand them. Sorry, but
the hard truth of the matter is that community forums for large projects
are very expensive. Even ubuntuforums.org used to run adsense because of
the sheer cost of bandwidth. Adsense is inconspicuous and occasionally
even helpful (relevant), and it helps to pay for some of the costs of a
site.

(3) Why force forum users to sign up and create an account? At least
http://de.openoffice.org has been running for many years without the
need for users to sign up. AFAIK there is no bad experience about that.

I tried this for a long time on one forum, but allowing posts without
registration just leads to nonstop spam.
