RC1 is here but closed for downloads.
the mirrors should only contain stable releases. feel free to

This doesn't make sense. Usually mirrors do have devel trees.
What's surprising is that the previous release was removed before the
next one going public. This means that right now users cannot
download. I object to this practice. Next time please don't do it.
Storing both releases is not a problem here.
