Sorry Guys
I did not know they had moved the thread to the list of sc.
Sorry for this, fortunately we have Drew who is managing our bad
communication here :-) Thanks Drew!
I would argue that just as there should be an organization sophie in
each country or each region to be responsible for collecting a
percentage of proceeds to TDF.
Suppose that in Venezuela there are 10 organizations that distribute
LibreOffice material should be 1 main organization that receives part
of these contributions for submission to TDF in this way each one
would take a portion for the maintenance of the project either local,
regional or global (TDF) . TDF can return after the fundraiser in the
form of support for each locality, in the form of money or in other
ways, technology, DVD, shirts, pens etc.
There is something that is difficult to understand for me, do you mean that:
- in one country there is several organizations
- these organizations are managed by one main one
- this main organization report to TDF and give money back to TDF
- TDF support the main organization by funding it or by providing goodies?
My particular case I'm in Venezuela, I thought about making a small
investment of my pocket to get my investment and start raising funds
for the project LibreOffice in Venezuela and other countries in need
such as Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica among others. We also hope to
donate part of the collection to TDF
I think that each local organization should first finance itself and
then when generating enough money, participate to TDF funding.
We need to define the partnership here ant think to everything
carefully, taking into account also Alexander remarks.
What I would like to avoid is a situation where TDF faces issues to
finance the resources needed by the project when some
organizations/associations are able to make a lot of money.
May be it will never be the case, may be I have to bad memories from the
OOo times, but I feel it's important to think about it.
Kind regards
Sophie
