When I create a "Pivot data" sheet and then went I need to 'refresh' the
pivot data sheet (sheet 2) I am unable to do update. I have to re-create the
data sheet every time I add something to the main sheet (sheet 1).
Is there something I am or have done already that prevents me for just
refreshing sheet 2?
Background:
I have created a small dept inventory worksheet, so when things are added or
removed I just open (sheet 2) and would it refresh but it does not exists. I
can create it easy and as long as I don't close the worksheet sheet down it
works fine. But if I close it and then open it and add to the main
spreadsheet new or delete an inventory item, it fails to update using the
refresh command in the pivot data spreadsheet (sheet 2).
Any suggestion on what to do, I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks,

Is the range for the pivot table large enough to include the new data?
If not, then you wouldn't see a change.
